Andy Rice – Staff Coordinator/Music Caption Head
Andy Rice is currently in his tenth year as the Director of Bands at Hilliard Bradley High School in Hilliard, Ohio. He previously served as the Assistant Director of Bands at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio from
2005 to 2014, and Director of Bands at Jefferson Local Schools in West Jefferson, Ohio from 2003 to 2005.
Andy received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University in 2003. While at OSU, he was a member of The Ohio State University Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. He
received his Master’s degree in Music Education from Capital University in 2008.
Andy has designed drill for multiple marching bands in Ohio, as well as the University of Nevada. He has also designed multiple award-winning winter guard shows for Hilliard Bradley High School, placing 1st in Regional A Class
at the 2019 and 2023 MEPA Circuit Championships.
Andy was the baritone tech for the 2009 Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
As a performer, Andy is active in the Columbus music scene as a trombone player with various jazz and funk groups, including Largemouth Brass Band and The Big Badd. He also is a member of the Heisey Wind Ensemble based
in Newark, Ohio.
Andy is an avid Ohio State sports fan, and enjoys spending his free time going to movies and hearing live music. He currently lives in Galloway, Ohio with his fiancé Melissa, his two children Garrett (13) and Ella (9), and their
dog Henry.
